Eastview is involved in the support of those called into the work of mission, sharing the love of Jesus with those who do not know him. We support members of the church who are involved in mission, both in NZ and overseas, as well as the missionaries of Tranzsend, the Baptist global mission agency.
Those we specifically support overseas through Tranzsend are Kerry and Annie, Joel and Lizzie, Ryan and Sophie serving in South and South East Asia.
We have a special relationship with Garembesi, a village in Nepal, through the work of the Tony McClean Nepal Trust which was begun after one of our young leaders, Tony, was drowned in the Mangatepopo disaster. The Trust is working towards achieving Tony’s vision for the people he had met in the mountain villages around Pokhara in Nepal, Central Asia. Teams from Eastview have been to Nepal to aid with clean water, health, and education. The Trust is also working with the team in Nepal to assist in reconstruction after the recent earthquakes. We currently are supporting Shane and Jen and family, who are serving with INF.
Others we support overseas are Zach and Alice with TSCF in Italy.
In NZ we support IOSIS the social services are of the Auckland Baptist Association; Mike and the Young Life Programme in local secondary schools; and Peter who is responsible for Stand Against Slavery.
As a church we actively support initiatives within our own Botany community and welcome any requests, comments or suggestions you may have.
